TAGGART FIFTH IN FIRST CHILDREN'S EUROPEAN QUALIFIER

IRELAND'S Kelly Taggart was fifth in the first qualifying competition for Children on Horses at the European Championships in Moorsele, Belgium today (Friday).

The 13 year-old, riding the French-bred mare 'Illinoise de Cabdula', was over four seconds off the pace of Czech winner Lucie Prikrylova in a field of 73 starters.

Ian Fearon, Horse Sport Ireland's High Performance Coach for Children on Horses, has announced his team to compete in the Championships tomorrow (Saturday)

The order of jump will be:
Eoin McMahon with Castlequarter Lanza (ISH)
Roisin Kenny with Crockett 13
Simon McCarthy with Cyril Van De Mespel Z
Kelly Taggart with Illinoise De Cabdula
