SWEDISH NATIONS' CUP CLASH HEADS UP WEEKEND OF IRISH INTERNATIONAL ACTION
With just Hickstead and Dublin to follow, the Irish senior show jumping team will hope to improve their position in the Meydan Nations' Cup Series when they battle it out with the world's other top ten teams at Falsterbo, Sweden tomorrow (Friday).
Horse Sport Ireland Team Manager Robert Splaine will field Cameron Hanley, Darragh Kerins, Denis Lynch and Capt. David O’Brien for this sixth leg of the Series. Ireland currently lies in seventh place on the Meydan leaderboard.
Elsewhere in Europe, Cork's Billy Twomey is Ireland's only competitor at Italy's five-star show in San Patrignano, but at La Coruna in Spain this weekend, Jessica Kurten joins Cian O'Connor, Dermott Lennon and Conor Swail for combat at four-star level.
Tom Davin will be at Vimeiro in Portugal, Jonathan Corrigan at Royan in France, while in Eventing Sacha Pemble joins Gilly Crawford and Tipperary's Sam Watson at Brightling Park in England for the one and two-star competitions.
