Spring Along (ISH) and Daisy Dick (GBR) win Barbury Castle CIC3*
Britain’s Daisy Dick and Irish Sport Horse, Spring Along, won the CIC3* at Barbury Castle International Horse Trials last weekend.
Spring Along (ISH) and Daisy Dick (Gbr) were part of the British team that claimed Team Bronze medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
A delighted Daisy said: "I'm annoyed with my time penalty [cross-country] but I know exactly where I lost time – just one too many pulls but it did feel really fast – he was like a rocket! He really deserves the win today; it's about time as we've been second so many times. He's feeling so well – more like an eight year old and he was brilliant today." (Source: Horse and Hound)
Ireland’s Sam Watson and Horseware Bushman (ISH) put in an excellent performance at Barbury and were awarded when they finished in third place. Patricia Ryan (Irl) and Fernhill Clover Mist (ISH) slotted into third, while Elizabeth Power (Irl) and Doonaveeragh O One (ISH) made it three Irish in the top ten when they finished in tenth place.
Seven Irish Sport Horses finished in the top ten, with What A Performance (ISH) and Piggy French (Gbr) taking sixth, Chase The Moon (ISH) and Piggy French (Gbr) taking eighth and Olympic Team Bronze medallists Tankerstown (ISH) and Sharon Hunt (Gbr) taking ninth place.
