Kimberlite 3rd in Blessington Classic (watch video)
Seán Walsh made the journey to the Blessington Horse Show last weekend. The show which was held in the impressive Coilóg Equestrian Centre near Newbridge, Co. Kildare attracted large entries and stiff competition.
Walsh, riding Kimberlite, was one of forty to take part in Saturday's 1.40m Classic and showed his ability when taking the lead in a very fast time. The lead held for another 20 horses before former Aga Khan Cup combination and current nations cup team member Capt. Shane Carey and River Foyle shaved just half of a second off the 23 year-old's time.
Co. Meath rider John Floody (Larkhill Cruiser) was the only other rider from this experienced field to get inside Walsh's time to leave the young Cork rider with a 3rd place finish and another impressive display at national level.
