Good start to season
Seán Walsh has got off to a steady start in the 2010 jumping season. With 17 horses in work there is plenty of variety - novice horses, open horses, horses in initial training and so on.
At the first round of the Munster Grand Prix series Seán steered Robert Splaine's Billiebob into 6th place with a steady double-clear performance at the the Co. Waterford venue of Aglish.
At the Agricultural show in Midleton Co. Cork, both Billiebob and Kimberlite jumped clear in the 1.30m Open class with KImberlite finishing in third place. A slip on the wet grass coming to the penultimate fence meant Billiebob returned with one pole on the floor but with an impressive performance.
Sunny Boy K made his return from a short lay-off to finish third in the 1.10m jump-off and wil move up the grades slowly over the next few weeks. Orphan Annie was also faultless in this class and finished 7th.
Meanwhile Erin (Jethro) and Niamh O' Sullivan (WSF Ashley), the pony riders at Waterfall Stud Farm, had a very successful outing to Midleton.
Thanks to Liz Sullivan who had the horses looking great as usual.
