Equine Educational Tour To Kentucky WEG 2010

Teagasc (Irish farm Advisory Group) is happy to announce that we are organising an Equine Educational Tour to Kentucky in 2010 to incorporate the World Equestrian Games (WEG) at the Kentucky Horse Park - 30^th September – 11^th October 2010

 This is a unique opportunity to visit the Kentucky Horse Park which is a 1,200 acre horse farm, educational park, and equine competition facility. It is home to legends of the turf such as Cigar and Kentucky Derby winner Alysheba. The WEG are comprised of the world championships for eight disciplines including dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, jumping, para dressage, reining and vaulting. The games are held every four years, two year prior to the Olympic Games. 

 A proposed itinerary is to include visits to stud farms and other farms of interest, and also to the Gluck Equine Research Centre. Specific details are yet to be arranged pending a satisfactory interest in the tour.

It is our intention to depart from Dublin on 30^th of September and return on the 11^th of October 2010. The price may vary slightly depending on flight prices and number of people travelling, at the time booking.

In order to ensure a place on this unique tour an initial deposit of €400 per person payable to Group Travel International (GTI) must be sent before September 18^th 2009. For administrative efficiency, please send all deposits to Group Travel International only. Please make all cheques/drafts payable to GTI and send using the enclosed booking form and pre-addressed envelope to (GTI).

Tour Price Includes:

¨          Return flights to Lexington from Dublin including approx taxes (subject to change)

¨          Hotel accommodation including breakfast

¨          Return transfers from hotel to WEG venues

¨          Stud Farm and other relevant visits

Estimated prices are based on 45 persons travelling. Please note that tickets to the various WEG events are not included. The entry prices to the different events range from 45 to 105 US dollars.
