HORSE SPORT IRELAND ANNOUNCES EUROPEAN EVENTING SQUAD

HORSE Sport Ireland High Performance Manager Ginny Elliot has today (Tuesday) named the Irish squad for the European Eventing Championships in Fontainebleau, France which take place from September 23rd to 27th.

The squad in alphabetical order is:

Fitzgibbon is National Showjumping Champion 2009

Kildare rider Nicola Fitzgibbon was crowned the 2009 National Champion following her win in the final leg of the Premier Series on Sunday last.

Kilkenny rider Eddie Moloney was crowned SJI Premier Series Champion after finishing on 41.5 points in the ten leg league.

SPLAINE ANNOUNCES IRISH SQUAD FOR EURO SHOWJUMPING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Team Ireland manager Robert Splaine has today (Friday) announced the Irish squad for the European Show Jumping Championships to take place in Windsor in the UK from August 26th to 30th.

The squad in alphabetical order is:

Cian O’Connor; Rancorrado (Owner Aileen Bryan)

Meydan Nations Cup Series- Indecision over which team to be relegated

The FEI has still to make a decision on who gets eliminated from the Meydan Series after the final round in Dublin last weekend. Italy, who finish bottom of the series, are definitely relegated to the Promotional League for 2010 but Great Britain and Belgium are tied for second last place. With two teams to be demoted in total the FEI has stated that clarity is required in the interpretation of the rules.
